All you want is for your child to have the same opportunities everyone else has, for their dreams not to be limited by their abilities, to make their pain go away. Hopelessness and fear... What will happen to him when I'm gone? How will she self-advocate? live independently? have a family, friendships, a career? We've made so many mistakes and had so many wins. We don't sell hope and theory. We've been there done that and got ourselves and our children through it and helped thousands of parents do the same.
About Tressie Taylor
I am a wife to a wonderful and supportive husband and the mother of six terrific children.
My journey with Biomed started in 2007 when my son was diagnosed with low to moderate functioning Autism. Like most parents, I was desperate to find answers to help my child.
I joined my first special diet listserv in 2007 and got started with GFCFSF diet. We found a biomedical doctor in our area and did all we were told to do and we saw some progress as well as some bumpy patches. In the summer of 2008, we moved out of state. We lost the doctor we had been seeing and my son started refusing his supplements (they really did taste awful). His behavior regressed terribly, so I was once again desperate. I went back to the internet to find an answer.
In April of 2009, I found the Autism-Mercury group and after having a question answered by Dr. Andrew Hall Cutler Ph. D., I threw all my energies into learning how to help my son. I started AC Protocol to Detox my little boy and his progress was truly amazing. We saw more improvements and gains in his first three rounds (three weeks) following this method than we had in the entire year and a half with our old doctor.
Through reading Andy's books and the listserv, I was able to discover why the doctor's protocol was not helping my son, and find strategies that were actually beneficial to his long term health and development.
I began moderating the Recovery from Autism listserv in 2010 and was then researching answers not only for my son but for other parents as well. This experience gave me a unique perspective on the challenges we face as parents in the sea of misinformation that surrounds us.
My son may have begun with a diagnosis of Low Functioning Autism, but today he is in a regular classroom. He has friends, does not need any special diets, no more handfuls of supplements, no yeast, and no digestive issues!
I am a Holistic Nutritionist and Spectrum Health Consultant. I have received much of my knowledge from hands-on experience with my own son and endless hours engaged with other parents.

About Jan Martin
I am the mother of two wonderful children and an active parent coach in frequent dose protocol in the online biomed community. I hold many certificates in various autism therapies as well as AAS degree with a focus on medical office and marketing. In my spare time, I have been studying herbal medicine and all things biomed.
My focus is on holistic wellness using diet, supplements, and herbs. I have also put a great deal of study into areas like endocrine dysfunction, heavy metal toxicity and therapies for children on the autism spectrum,
I have recovered myself and two children from mercury poisoning using frequent dose protocol. I have spent more than 10 years teaching and mentoring others on safely addressing toxicity to regain their children's health.

Working with hundreds of thousands of people with mercury poisoned children cannot be cataloged in university hours when it has become an integral part of my daily life. There is no certificate to measure living mercury poisoning and recovering from it but one day I hope to further my studies in herbalism and homeopathy beyond the stage I’ve reached.
While this blog is titled “The Edge of Autism” it was originally named as such because I was, for all purposes, cataloging our life living on the edge with a high functioning child and blogging our challenges as we worked our way through the path to better health. When I began this journey I never expected that many of the symptoms I was told were “autism” actually improved with holistic means and thus I can only conclude that the word autism is a label for a collection of symptoms psychologists cannot explain. Our brains do not exists in a vacuum separate from our bodies as some might believe. Everything is relevant. Everything within our bodies is interconnected.
